Induction Programme 2025 for Newly Admitted B. Pharm and D. Pharm Students at PES College of Pharmacy Phaltan
Phaltan Education Society’s College of Pharmacy & Research Center, Phaltan successfully organized an Induction Programme for newly admitted B. Pharm and D. Pharm students on 10 January 2025 for the Academic Year 2024–25. The programme was organized to welcome new students and their parents and to introduce them to the college’s academic environment, examination system, facilities, committees, co-curricular activities and institutional culture.
The Induction Programme provided an important platform for students to understand their new academic journey in pharmacy education. Staff members, students and parents actively participated in the programme, making it an informative and meaningful beginning to college life.

A Warm Welcome to Newly Admitted Pharmacy Students
The main objective of the Induction Programme 2025 was to familiarize newly admitted students with the institution’s culture, structure, academic policies, support services and educational environment.
Starting college is an important transition in every student’s academic life. For B. Pharm and D. Pharm students, it also marks the beginning of their professional journey in the field of pharmacy. An induction programme helps students understand what is expected from them academically and introduces the various resources available during their course.
The programme was conducted in the college auditorium under the coordination of Prof. Zanjurne N. R. and Prof. Nale S. R. The programme was attended by students, parents, staff members and distinguished guests.
Inauguration of the Induction Programme
The programme began with a formal welcome and inauguration. Hon. Shri. Shirish Sharadkumar Doshi inaugurated the Induction Programme. The ceremonial lamp before Goddess Saraswati was lit as part of the inaugural programme, and the report also records the participation of Hon. Shri. Arvind Nikam and Hon. Mrs. Vasundhara Naik Nimbalkar in Saraswati worship.
The presence of distinguished guests added significance to the occasion and created an encouraging atmosphere for the newly admitted students and their parents.

Principal’s Guidance on College Mission, Vision and Code of Conduct
Principal Dr. V. T. Deshmukh welcomed the newly admitted students and addressed them during the programme. He provided guidance regarding the code of conduct for students and spoke about the mission and vision of the college.
His interaction helped students understand the importance of discipline, responsibility and maintaining appropriate conduct throughout their academic journey.
The transition from school or junior college to professional pharmacy education brings new responsibilities. Guidance from the Principal at the beginning of the academic journey helps students understand the academic culture and expectations of the institution.

B. Pharmacy Academic Coordinator Prof. Shegar S. N. presented the academic curriculum to newly admitted B. Pharm students and their parents. Similarly, D. Pharmacy Academic Coordinator Prof. Kavitake A. S. explained the academic curriculum for newly admitted D. Pharm students and their parents.
These sessions helped students and parents understand the structure of their respective pharmacy programmes and provided clarity about the academic journey ahead.
For newly admitted students, understanding the curriculum at the beginning of the course can help them prepare for classroom learning, practical sessions and other academic requirements in a more organized manner.


Examination Guidance and Grading System
Understanding the examination system is equally important for students entering professional education.
B. Pharmacy Exam In-charge Prof. Kavitake S. S. provided guidance regarding the examination pattern and related academic requirements for B. Pharm students. D. Pharmacy Exam In-charge Prof. Kadam P. K. provided examination guidance for newly admitted D. Pharm students.
The sessions helped students and parents become familiar with the examination process and grading system. Early awareness about examinations can help students develop better study habits and understand the importance of continuous academic preparation.
The programme also introduced students to relevant committees as well as co-curricular and extracurricular activities, helping them understand that college education involves both academic learning and overall development.
Introduction to College Laboratories and Equipment
Pharmacy education combines theoretical knowledge with extensive practical learning. Therefore, familiarizing new students with laboratories and equipment was another valuable component of the Induction Programme.

Herbal Garden Visit for Students and Parents
Another informative component of the programme was an introduction to the college’s Herbal Garden.
Prof. Kavitake A. S. provided a brief introduction to the Herbal Garden for newly admitted B. Pharm and D. Pharm students and their parents.
